PRIMARY FUNCTION:

 

Assist the Regional Director and Regional Operations team in planning, developing and implementing advocacy initiatives, program activities and services in the community to advance ADL’s mission across Southern California. Assist the Regional Director in the administration of the office including office management and staff supervision where appropriate.

Responsibilities:
Primary:

Help to identify and implement timely, resonant and creative regionalized ADL programs and projects, tailoring them to local community needs and issues, including webinars and in-person community education programs.

Help to implement national ADL programs and events.

Help to lead management of regional volunteer leadership programs (Regional Board and GLI young leaders).

Serve as principal liaison with development department, ensuring that all external programs have an engagement and development focus and/or content.

Coordinate communications (social media, website, flyers, email invitations, etc.) related to regional programs or initiatives.

Attend community events on behalf of ADL to promote public awareness of ADL’s mission and extend ADL’s reach throughout Southern California.

Respond to and attempt to resolve complaints of antisemitism and discrimination, including, where necessary, coordinating with ADL’s internal experts and legal counsel and ensure that required reports and comprehensive tracking are maintained through use of the Salesforce database.

Assist the Regional Director and Deputy Regional Director in the administration of the office including office management, among other areas of responsibility.

Oversee assigned interns and the programs for which they are responsible.

Participate in regional development and young leadership events, support legislative agenda, and as asked, represent the region at ADL national committees, programs or initiatives.

Qualifications:
Skills:

Strong event planning, project management, administrative, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Proven ability to work with and collaborate with a wide variety of people.

Proven diplomatic and conflict resolution skills.

Strong public speaking and writing skills.

Ability to multi-task.

Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Outlook, Excel).

Working knowledge of ADL’s areas or expertise and regional Jewish community preferred

Work Experience:

The ideal candidate has several years of expereince in human relations, community outreach, program planning or community service experience including program and operational management.

Education: 

Bachelor’s degree plus additional related college courses, professional training or equivalent experience required.

Work Environment: 

Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when necessary to represent ADL and to attend community events. Some travel within the region is required. Occasional overnight travel is required.

ADL is requiring proof of vaccination. ADL is a hybrid environment; this role may require 3 days in the office.

Compensation: 

This position has a salary range of $60,000 to $70,000. This salary range is reflective of a position based in Los Angeles, California. Please note that actual salaries are commensurate with experience and reflect the budget for a given position, and since ADL has a location-based compensation structure, there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
