Assistant General Manager

LA Cha Cha Chá in downtown Arts District is looking for an Assistant General Manager to join our team!  

Responsibilities:

  • Work under the direction of the restaurant’s General Manager
  • Uphold the highest level of service standards
  • Create a warm and hospitable environment for our guests and team
  • Scheduling and floor management
  • Maintain discipline and standards of service
  • Manage day to day operations during scheduled shifts – weekly schedules, employee training and support, guest interaction, and planning while upholding standards
  • Weekly & Monthly Inventories
  • Be knowledgeable of restaurant policies regarding personnel
  • Perform personnel actions, such as hiring and terminating staff, providing employee orientation and training, and conducting supervisory activities, such as creating work schedules or organizing employee timesheets
  • Recommend measures for improving work procedures and worker performance to increase service quality and enhance job safety
  • Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and kept in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the restaurant’s preventative maintenance programs
  • Arrange for equipment maintenance and repairs, and coordinate a variety of services, such as waste removal and pest control
  • Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offers suggestions for improvement
  • Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the operation of the restaurant
  • Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations
  • Ensure that all restaurant policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, and training programs and followed and completed on a timely basis
  • Ensure that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly, and courteous service at all times
  • Compile and balance cash receipts at the end of the day or shift
  • Investigate and resolve complaints regarding food quality, service, or accommodations
  • Ensure that all products are received in correct unit count and condition and deliveries are performed in accordance with the restaurant’s receiving policies and procedures
  • Prepare all required paperwork, including forms, reports and schedules in an organized and timely manner
  • Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements of the restaurant, employees and guests
  • Schedule labor as required by anticipated business activity while ensuring that all positions are staffed when and as needed and labor cost objectives are met
  • Assign duties, responsibilities, and work stations to employees in accordance with work requirements
  • Analyze operational problems, such as theft and wastage, and establish procedures to alleviate these problems
  • Opening and Closing procedures
  • Maintain staff health, COVID 19 procedures as mandated by LA City Health Department

 

Qualifications:

  • 3+ Years of experience as a Manager, AGM, or GM in a fast-paced high volume environment
  • Manager ServSafe certified
  • RBS certified
  • Strong understanding and proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer skills
  • Good understanding of P&L structure and financial indicators for a restaurant business a plus
  • Good understanding of COGS management a plus
