JOB SUMMARY:Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in operating a variety of machines to manufacture and pack bread products by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

This is a floating position that will support different shifts at the time that it is needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Coordinates and plans weekly production and Packing schedules in conjunction with the Materials Management department based on master scheduling and inventory policies set for each SKU.Responsible to complete Production and Packing weekly employee schedule based on the production schedule and Packing needs.

Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedule.Responsible to provide training for both production and packaging personnel, so that they can carry out the work in a safe and efficient manner.Responsible for developing and updating procedures related to the processes.Responsible for reviewing and update SOPs (Standard Operational Procedures) with both Production and Packaging personnel, minimum once per year or when is needed.Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.In conjunction with quality assurance staff, inspects and measures products to verify conformance to specifications.

Trains employees to identify product that does not meet specifications and ensure it is not shipped.Directs employees in adjusting machines, equipment and work processes to ensure product specifications are met.Troubleshoots product quality issues.Develops, recommends and implements changes in working conditions and use of equipment to improve production methods, equipment performance and efficiency, employee performance and product quality.Resolves worker grievances or submits unsettled grievances to Human Resources department for action.Maintains clean and organized work area.Develops capital equipment justifications for machine tools and process technology to improve quality, cost and cycle times.Maintains time, Packing records, and production records.Documents line inefficiencies and down-time to identify issues.

Works in conjunction with others to resolve them in a timely manner.Completes duties, and ensures that subordinates complete their duties, in accordance with quality assurance, GMPs, safety and other company programs and procedures, and in accordance with government codes and regulations.Participates as an active member of production/Packaging management team.Works to maintain and improve on the quality, legality and safety of each product and the processes used in their manufacture.Responsible for keeping assigned work area clean and tidy at all times and reporting any potential contamination and suspicious activity to a Supervisor immediately.Inspects premises for unsanitary practices and conditions.Confers with management and production personnel on packaging problems, and recommends changes in equipment, plant layout, lighting, ventilation, or work practices to improve packaging standards and purity of product.Compiles required reports regarding regular inspections, packaging violations, and steps taken to resolve deficiencies.Routes reports to designated plant personnel.Manages production and packing departments within budgeted guidelines.Responsible to identify and generate work notification to the Maintenance department when needed.Responsible to ensure direct reports complete the required Alchemy trainings, Lotto and SOPs ensure all employees are up to 100% by the end of the fiscal year.Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three years of related bakery or food manufacturing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as production schedules, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively before groups of employees or colleagues in organization.Working knowledge of Spanish preferred.Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to interpret graphs and diagrams.Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Knowledge of inventory control and manufacturing software helpful.
