Our ideal candidate has past retail experience, is a dedicated team player, has a friendly demeanor and a willingness to learn.General PurposeAssist the Store Manager with all aspects of the day-to-day operations of an Artist & Craftsman Supply store.Main Job Tasks and ResponsibilitiesAct as manager on duty in the absence of the Store ManagerWith direction from the Store Manager, provide direction to the team during their shifts to maintain day-to-day operations of the storeFoster a positive store culture and strong sense of team within the store staffWith direction from the Store Manager, assist with recruiting, hiring and training new employees as necessaryWork in close coordination with the Home Office and respond to feedback and directionWith direction from the Store Manager, plan and implement ideas to increase traffic into the storeEnsure customer needs are met, complaints are resolved, and service is quick and efficientWith direction from the Store Manager, assist with the coordination of merchandise set ups, layout changes, and ability to implement and maintain the store inventory and ensure the maintenance of the standards of goodsAssist in maintaining a regular routine of maintenance and housekeeping to ensure safety of associates, customers, and protection of company assets.Maintain a thorough knowledge of store processes and proceduresMay be responsible for overseeing special assignments or engaging in particular daily operations like buying, outreach, scheduling store maintenance or any and all day-to-day operationsAll other duties as assigned by management Education and ExperienceHigh school degree, diploma or GED Equivalent requiredBachelor’s degree or an Associate’s Degree in the Fine Arts or any other related field is preferred6 months to 1-year experience in the retail industryKey CompetenciesCustomer focusOrganizing and prioritizingAttention to detail and accuracyConfidentialityGood judgmentCommunication skillsInformation management skillsProblem-solving skillsComputer SkillsExposure to Microsoft OfficeRetail software experience a plusPhysical RequirementsThis job operates in a retail store environment.
