We’ve been rapidly growing for the past several years and we’re now on the hunt for talented, enthusiastic team members to join us.We’re looking for a Vice President of Sourcing & Quality to lead theglobal sourcing, quality, sourcing operations and technical & costing product departments.

You will be defining and executing the global sourcing strategy, building a top-tier team to execute and develop and manage vendors to achieve sourcing goals.The sourcing team is currently focused on how we source directly our own raw materials to manufacturing partners.We are currently disrupting the status quo with a deep use of data to truly understand product manufacturing and costing with our vendor partners.

In addition, we’ve doubled our manufacturer vendor capacity last year and are about to double again.

Our manufacturing started in Vietnam, and we’re expanding throughout Asia, and adding additional capacity in Mexico with our growth and product line expansion and we will continue to grow globally.What You’ll DoDevelop, lead and execution on Article’s business model and Global sourcing StrategyEnsure Article’s growth plans are supported and capacity is securedRelentlessly strive for fair and competitive prices with vendors that support Article’s long term business strategyPursue a strategy that diversifies global risks that accounts for geopolitical, vendor performance, international supply chain, and ocean transportation risksDevelop new markets for furniture sourcing that pave the way for the next phase of vendor and country diversificationDevelop and execute a raw material sourcing strategyDevelop and mentor a fast growing team that support Sourcing Operations, Quality Assurance, Global Sourcing Offices, Packaging, Costing and Technical Product DataDrive continuous improvements initiatives to improve vendor performanceBuild out a model to capture product costs, data, and drawings to support product engineeringWork collaboratively with vendors, planning team, and design and product teams to ensure future material and product needs are metSkills Knowledge and Expertise12+ years in management experience in growing, building, and mentoring teamsDegree in engineering, supply chain management, manufacturing, or another related fieldProven leadership in sourcing and manufacturingAbility to create, develop, and grow new programs and processes in pursuit of remarkably betterAbility to work cross-culturally and across time zones.The ability to travel (when safe to do so) estimated 4-6 trips to Asia a yearStrong understanding of supply chain, global logistics, and manufacturingExperience with negotiations that produce extended value for all partiesA deep understanding of furniture manufacturing and factory processes is highly desirableA strong sense of ownership and accountabilityA collaborative and strategic leadership mindset — you consistently look to improve and problem-solve the work you’re inPreferably based out of Vancouver, BC (interest in relocation would be highly preferred)BenefitsAt Article, we believe in an “Ownership Mindset” where you’ll be given autonomy and the ability to own your work.
