As Area Sales Manager you’ll provide support to customers throughout the sales process in the Region.

You’ll be accountable for increasing new and existing business in support of the E-mobility sales organization by leveraging your extensive knowledge of our EV Charger products and the regional electric transportation market to increase our market share.

Remote-based in the Southeastern Region, preferably located in NC, GA or VA, the Eastern Time Zone This position reports to VP Sales, E-mobility U.S.

Your responsibilities Participate in sales strategy planning meetings to establish the short and long-term goals Work collaboratively with the local Sales team, and create the regional area E-mobility sales plans Review customer needs and competitor offers by analyzing market information & data provided by Business Development, regional sales teams, and voice of customer informational feedback Communication new product offering information and product updates, including support to new product launches to End Users and Resellers’ continuously share the value proposition of our products, systems, service, and packages Support the ABB E-mobility Channel Partners in determining the most technically appropriate and cost-effective solutions in the preparation of demanding offers Provide sales process support during the technical meetings, product/demo presentations and negotiate product & solution offers Define target sales price and selling products, systems and service focusing on volume, mix and profitability targets Take ownership of specific customer cases to ensure efficient customer issue resolution Provide direct assistance by nurturing strategic partnerships and developing relationships with new and existing partners, customers and other EV industry leaders Perform regular status reviews and propose recovery plan(s) in cases of potential order shortfalls; Provide regular reports of the area sales activities and training Your background Bachelor’s Degree is required with 4 or more years of direct sales, or sales account management, preferably in an electrical products industry; Direct experience in the Electric Vehicle or EV Charging industry is highly preferred In lieu of a degree, equivalent direct experience of 6-8 years or more years working closely with both prospective and existing customers in a direct selling capacity is acceptable Must have a customer-focused mindset with proven ability to respond quickly to customer needs Willingness to support the Region in an individual sales contributor role, with a career interest in leading a small Sales Account Management Team within the next 1-3 years is required Strong collaboration, leadership, and influencing skills are absolutely required Strong verbal, written communication skills in English required with effective presentation skills to a wide audience, up to corporate executive levels Knowledge of customer’s financial drivers with ability to translate their needs and solution requirements into successful proposals and contract agreements Must be willing and able to travel domestically, up to 50% Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US Benefits Retirement plan Life insurance Disability insurance Medical insurance Wellbeing program More about us ABB E-mobility is a world leader in EV charging technology with a strong R&D pipeline and an unparalleled global reach.
