We are seeking a highly motivated Accounts Payable Manager to join our Finance team.

Reporting directly to the Accounting Director, this role will play a key role in building our financial processes and foundations as we move our innovative scientific programs towards the clinic.

You will be responsible for the full cycle of the Company’s accounts payable process.

You will also be responsible for various account reconciliations, other month-end close requirements and data entry for the company as needed.

This position can be remotely based (in the US) for the right candidate or located at our Agoura Hills, CA location.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Manage day to day operations of the Accounts Payable (AP) team
Oversee the team’s timely and complete processing of all AP transactions ensuring accurate coding to the General Ledger
Provide instruction to employees on troubleshooting AP application issues and facilitate timely invoice approvals
Work with employees and vendors to resolve invoice issues and special handling of invoices
Be responsible for weekly payment runs, ensuring payments are correct and timely
Recruit, develop and manage AP staff members
Continuously evaluate processes, controls and systems, and make recommendations to keep the company efficient, with strong internal controls as the company continues to grow and evolve
Maintain effective relationships with business partners/vendors through timely and accurate payment and response to inquiries
Requirements

Basic Qualifications:
Masters & 3+ years of relevant experience OR
Bachelor’s degree + 5+ years of relevant experience OR
Associate’s degree & 8+ years of relevant experience
High School Diploma / GED & 10+ years of relevant experience
Must have at least 2 years’ experience as an Accounts Payable Manager in a full-cycle AP process

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
Thorough knowledge of applicable AP/General Ledger systems and procedures
Experience working in ERP systems like SAP Business ByDesign, Oracle NetSuite, or Microsoft Dynamics 365
Familiarity with other ancillary accounting tools (Bill.com, Expensify, Procurify, etc)
Ability to communicate with all levels of employees and management
Experience with tax laws regarding IRS 1099 reporting requirements
Understanding of internal controls related to Accounts Payable
People management experience is highly desirable but not essential
Must be accurate and detail-oriented
Must be customer service oriented
Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
Proficient in MS Office, including strong Excel skills
