Hiring Bonus for new team members hired before January 1, 2022 Covid-19 vaccination required Role:Reporting to the Director of Social Services Programs, the Program Supervisor will be the direct supervisor to a team of Parent Partners and /or Family Support Specialists.

The Supervisor also has a shared responsibility of managing the Parent Partners and Family Support Specialist in various tasks and duties.

The shared supervision will be accomplished through weekly group and/or individual supervision, crisis management, and providing other supportive services to staff.

Supervisors may accompany staff on home visits to assist with assessments and family engagement.This is a unique position directly supervising up to six staff.

ARS Parent Partners are an incredible group of parents who have navigated the Alameda County Child Welfare System and now have returned to provide community resource linkages to families in need of stabilization.

ARS Family Support Specialist provides support to parents experiencing difficult life situations and/or parenting challenges as they connect parents to community resources and help re-stabilize the family.

The Program Supervisor also helps to ensure that culturally sensitive and family friendly engagement practices permeate throughout the program.

ARS Program Supervisors have the privilege of supporting staff as they go through incredible personal and professional growth.

Program Supervisors collaborate with staff to assess strengths and build professional skills to ensure ARS is providing high quality services to families within Alameda County.

While it does represent a step away from direct service, the program’s deep commitment to work-force development and support calls on many of the same skills that are required of a peer professional, case manager, or clinician serving our families.

Qualifications:Personal life experience navigating one of the following systems on behalf of a family member is preferred: child welfare, juvenile justice, criminal justice system, special education support, developmental services, and mental health.Minimum 2 years direct experience working with adults and/or children and families using a variety of clinical methods and approaches.

Knowledge of child development and family dynamics required.Strong supervision and management skills utilizing reflective practices and participatory goal setting required.Knowledge and skills to effectively deliver staff training and techniques for successful staff supervision and team building.Leadership skills and ability to respond calmly and professionally to unexpected situations.Ability to work in a demanding environment with frequent interruptions.Experience working with adults in recovery and training and experience in Motivational Interviewing preferred.Experience working with parents, children, and/or families involved with the child welfare system required.Understanding of Family-Driven services and Parent Advocacy required.Excellent writing and communication skills.Understanding of and ability to teach clinical case management under a family systems approach.Valid CA driver’s license and good driving record.Must be able to pass all required background checks.Preferred Qualifications:Master degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Counseling, Psychology from an accredited school or related field preferredA clinical background is preferred, but applicants with 5 years of experience working as a peer support professional will also be considered Duties and Responsibilities:Provide direct weekly supervision to all assigned staffSupervise and closely monitor all duties and workload of assigned staffReview, monitor, and provide feedback weekly to assigned staff in case management, agency/program deadlines, and contract deliverablesResponsible for co-facilitating weekly reflective group supervision and providing ongoing feedback and training to staff.Coach staff in their outreach to families at risk of child abuse and neglect; maintain ongoing contact with client families and other service providers to monitor service delivery and assess needs.Assist with data collection and compilation for various contract reportingMaintain a variety of records, logs and files; electronically store and retrieve documents as requiredResponsible for supervising and monitoring staff who facilitate parent cafesResponsible for ensuring parent cafe curriculum are implemented by all staff as directed.Work closely with Alameda County staff/Children’s Hospital Consultants while providing and eliciting feedback and evaluation of staff to ensure high quality service delivery to parents.Provide professionalism and work skill training as needed for staff.Collaborate closely with the ARS Leadership team around program and training development for staff.Coach staff to agency mission and value-driven competence.Attend all necessary agency meetings including but not limited to Staff Meetings, Team Meetings, County Meetings and Management Team Meetings.Some schedule flexibility required for evening and weekend events.Perform all other duties as necessary for the good of the program and agency Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time exempt position.

Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.M.

to 5:00 p.M.

Some evenings and weekends may be required.

Work hours subject to change, with supervisor approval, to meet the business needs.

TravelLocal travel to various worksites is required.
