JOB DESCRIPTION

INSTRUCTOR

A primary instructor is assigned to work with each consumer in the program.

Instructors report directly to the administrator.

DUTIES:
Responsible for the training of assigned consumers.
Assist the administrator and the assigned consumers to schedule training sessions.
Attend staff meetings and conduct staff training as requested by the administrator.
Instruct consumers as necessary in acceptable behavior and other areas of training.
Prepare progress notes and data collection and review them daily for accuracy.
Know assigned consumers’ medical conditions and history.
Work with the individual consumer and their doctors and other specialists
when indicated as an ISP objective.

(Only as needed for an individual consumer).
Provide training and monitor consumer’s storage of medication and self-administration.
Implement behavior plans as designed for the individual consumer.
Work with the administrator to implement training for yourself and other instructors working with your assigned consumers.
Assist Administrator and lead training instructor with on-job training and evaluation of new staff members as assigned.
Document and report to the administrator all incidents when they occur.
Act as a member of the interdisciplinary team and give accurate input on assigned consumers performance and progress.
Insure open lines of communication with staff, consumers, their families and agencies.
Understand behavior modification techniques and their implementation.
Complete SIRs and complete abuse reporting as required by regulation.
Be thoroughly familiar with the ISP for each assigned consumer.
Maintain current progress notes and data counts on each consumer assigned to you.
Attend all staff meetings and in-service training.
Will be able to instill acceptable behavior in others.
Will provide training to assigned consumers in all skills agreed upon on the ISP.
Will observe and oversee the consumer’s performance of all personal hygiene and home management skills on a regular basis.
Have the ability to exercise mature judgment and relate to consumers in a warm, carrying and non-expletive manner.
Report any observed violation of consumer rights, as specified in regulations.
Provide mobility training to assigned consumers as specified in their ISP.
Other duties as assigned.

Associates of art degree or bachelor degree preferred.

Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $11.00
– $50.00 per hour

Schedule:
8 hour shift

Los Angeles, CA: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
Experience:
Caregiving: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
Driver’s License (Required)
CPR Certification (Preferred)
