We are a process art and technology studio offering creative in school and after school classes, holiday camps, parties and events for children and adults. Our studio is centrally located in mid-city Los Angeles. We are currently seeking instructors to work at school locations in Mid-city/K-town and Hollywood/WeHo areas. Our approach focuses on learning through doing, hands-on experimentation, learning through failures or frustrations, and adopting a growth mindset. We are looking for a reliable part-time after school instructor who is a self-starter and enthusiastic about facilitating creative coding and robotics classes for elementary students. If you are someone who is hardworking, willing to take initiative, and open to feedback, and looking for growth as an educator, we want to hear from you Duties: Instruct hands-on STEAM and design classes during the week between the hours of 3:00-5:00 pm. (days and hours vary) Travel to partner sites (schools, event locations) with a prepared materials kit. Opportunities to co-instruct hands-on STEAD camps during school holidays 9:15 – 2:15pm. Opportunities to facilitate 1-2 hour weekend workshops at the Mid-city studio between 10am-3pm. Execute lessons and activities based on lesson plan. Be flexible and think quickly to differentiate or shift activities based on group response. Communicate with partner staff and occasionally with parents Qualifications: Must pass LiveScan (DOJ) background check. Must have experience instructing and/or implementing instruction to youth in classroom or camp settings. Must feel comfortable experimenting and guiding children to experiment in the arts and crafts and/or tech mediums. Must have reliable transportation and proof of insurance, and be willing to travel to various parts of Los Angeles (primarily Mid-city and Hollywood areas. We do not offer mileage reimbursement or travel/commute compensation.) Current standard first aid & CPR-C/AED certification is considered an asset Must be able to work weekdays Covid vaccination and current booster or willing to obtain.
