The Liquidity Client Group (LCG) practice is focused on meeting the needs of institutional client’s liquidity objectives for both immediate operating cash and for more strategic longer term objectives focused on either known disbursement and/or maximizing risk adjusted returns.  This comprehensive set of needs requires a broad platform and expertise to meet the specific goals of clients through utilization of various investment teams and capabilities across funds, separate account, and other tools.
   
The WFAM Sales Team Leader – Institutional Direct (Liquidity Client Group) will be a senior role reporting to the Head of LCG & Solutions and will lead a national sales organization focused on sourcing and closing opportunities directly with a diverse set of institutional clients (corporates, privates, higher education, public entities/non-profits.) 

This sales team will be comprised of both senior professionals and associates. As a manager, will ensure talent is aligned to the best opportunities, activities of each team member are aligned to maximizing new revenue within their area; coaching and developing new team members to grow and advance in their roles; and hiring as needed to strengthen the team. 

In addition to a focus of growing the practice and executing on the sales plan, this individual will be directly involved in the strategic planning process for the LCG team.  As such, this role relies heavily on exerting influence and collaborating with stakeholders from across WFAM while also leveraging deep industry knowledge to propose, finalize and execute on the LCG strategic plan.

  • Accomplish management responsibilities which include sourcing and hiring talented employees, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing employees, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relationship management experience

Desired Qualifications

  • A Masters of Business Administration (MBA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Designation
  • FINRA registration including Series 24 (or FINRA recognized equivalents)
  • FINRA registration including Series 7 and 63 (or FINRA recognized equivalents)
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Experience driving for results, applying a sense of urgency, and bringing issues to closure in a decisive manner despite obstacles and opposition
  • Sales experience with a focus on national accounts management
  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of financial services industry including both asset and practice management
  • Management experience including managing to a plan of supervision

Other Desired Qualifications

  • 10+ years of financial services professional experience in the investments space (Asset and Wealth Management) in sales, strategic partnerships, and/or client relationship management including institutional clients
  • Deep and established relationships with liquidity institutional clients
  • Functional knowledge of investment strategies, product structures, and operational/regulatory requirements within the asset management industry
  • Proven track record of meeting sales targets on a consistent basis
  • Strong communication skills across all levels of the organization and demonstrated experience working with senior executives 
  • Familiarity and experience with financial analysis and developing business cases to support various initiatives (organic growth, acquisitions, etc.) 
  • Ability to effectively interact and develop trust with both internal and external partners 
     

Job Expectations

  • Registration for FINRA Series 24 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Registration for FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within a 90 or 180-day time period contingent upon number of license(s) needed if not immediately available to transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted. This will be communicated at time of offer acceptance
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time
