Territory Sales Representative

The Territory Sales Executive will drive sales by establishing and cultivating retail relationships in the Westside Territory – which includes West LA, Venice, the South Bay, and part of Long Beach. An understanding of the cannabis industry and the competitive landscape, regulatory requirements, as well as the ability to develop relationships and provide excellent support to accounts, is essential for success in this role. Sales Execs with prior contacts in the industry will have the most success in this position. The sales process includes making initial contact, signing new accounts, building account relationships, and generating revenue through sales. The Sales Exec will spend the majority of time making outside sales calls with some administrative tracking and reporting, as required.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and manage sales accounts relationships in assigned territory
  • Generate qualified leads by means of web research, attending expos, events, networking, etc.
  • Identify key decision makers (buyers, owners, managers, inventory managers) and build strong relationships with them
  • Pitch brand portfolio and close accounts
  • Assess customer needs, answer questions and assist with the ordering process.
  • Grow current accounts by introducing additional product offerings as they become available.
  • Coordinate in-store activation opportunities (marketing, store within store, slotting, etc.) and escalate for approval
  • Track key interactions and feedback via CRM software and weekly meetings
  • Provide marketing, sales and display collateral to support customer sales.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams in order to deliver orders to new and existing clients on an agreed upon timeline.
  • Take brands into the field and introduce them to retailers and key decision makers to facilitate high-level partnerships.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Management or related field
  • 2+ years’ of experience in B2B cannabis sales
  • Existing book of business and buyer relationships in the territory
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to hit sales quotas
  • Sufficient time management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow-through on tasks and be self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Demonstrated ability to use CRM and ERP software to provide updates and detailed information in reports and be proficient in email communication and web research.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technology tools and applications as needed to support your work (i.e. database management, social media, communication applications)
  • Provide own reliable transportation for sales calls and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Track pre-approved expenses and mileage to submit for reimbursement
  • Pass a DMV background check
  • Minimum 21 years old
  • Attend weekly meetings
