Remote Insurance Sales Representative II

  • You will sell personal lines insurance products to new clients via phone in a call center environment, utilizing leads provided by the company.

We will count on you to:

  • Answer inbound calls to sell insurance products to new clients
  • Market insurance products via the telephone to maximize sales of insurance plans by preparing and presenting solutions, negotiating and overcoming objections, and assisting in purchasing appropriate products
  • Pre-qualify applicants to determine eligibility and ask underwriting questions to determine if specified prospective client meets carrier requirements
  • Ensure carrier, state, and company guidelines are adhered to
  • Cross sell insurance products, identify sales leads, and make outbound calls to finalize a sale
  • Document all information related to the call for reporting purposes

What you need to have:

  • 2 – 4 years of sales or other relevant experience
  • Ability to motivate and influence people towards suggested products/solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with customers on the telephone
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • An appropriate license must be obtained for the position. License required could include Property & Casualty or Personal Lines (Mercer will offer paid training to obtain a license)

The applicable base pay for this role is $36,000. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
