Job Details
The Territory Development Representative is responsible for growing profitable top line sales, within an assigned territory, through cultivating relationships with key and prospective accounts to drive future sales growth. This position will also act as the company?s front-line contact by establishing and maintaining relationships with purchasing/estimating, construction, sales, architecture, and finance personnel within customers and prospects? organizations.
General Responsibilities
- Support all continuous improvements in safety, quality, 5S and existing processes.
- Provide feedback to leadership to help resolve quality issues or operational improvements in regards to productivity and procedural changes.
- Know and abide to all company rules and policies with regards to safety and conduct, including the use and maintenance of company provided PPE.
Primary Responsibilities
- Follow up on company provided sales leads to disposition (closed sale won, closed sale lost) while managing each step of the sales process.
- Generate additional leads by prospecting in territory.
- Meet quarterly and annual sales quotas.
- Communicate with a wide range of customers and write concise and accurate internal and external business communication.
- Provides VP of Sales and Marketing with timely input for territory sales forecast.
- Understand, communicate and execute territory sales objectives.
- Enter all activities (appointments, calls, notes, etc.) and maintain a ?pipeline? of sales opportunities in the CRM system.
- Maintain and report on all lost sales opportunities by company, product, reason for loss, name of competitor, suggestions for sales loss prevention.
- Communicate and train customers on products and range of value added services.
- Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Quality regarding new product and competitive information.
- Effectively handle all administrative tasks (reports, expenses, etc.) in a timely manner.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new market expansion programs.
- Assist in the development and implementation of training materials for the distributor, dealer and architects.
- Collaborate with distributor and dealer salesforce to train, educate, and motivate the team to exceed sales targets.
- Work with assigned distribution in conjunction with the outside sales team/technical sales team to develop DCI capabilities and competencies.
- Communicate field and quality issues.
- Attend trade shows as necessary.
Education And Qualifications
- BA in Business (Management or related field) or comparable experience.
- 3-5 years direct sales experience in building products industry preferred.
- Experience calling on Dealers, Architects and key decision makers.
- Experience with multi-step distribution process.
- Ability to travel as needed (30%).
- Must live in assigned territory.
- Clean Driving Record.
