The primary emphasis for this position will be to process savings and share draft accounts, check cashing, assist members with money orders, traveler’s checks, and Visa transactions.
This position requires an understanding of daily teller transactions and processes and working knowledge of the credit union’s electronic data and processing system.
This position will also assist members in the areas of Visa accounts, share accounts, stop payments, money orders, check orders, and resolve member inquiries.
This position will require knowledge of loan, IRA, CD, Visa, ATM, wire transfer, and western union processes.
This position reports directly to the Branch Manager and will assist with related projects and other duties as assigned.PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:General knowledge of credit union products and services in order to assist members with inquires and transactions in an accurate and courteous mannerProvide a variety of transactions for members including processing savings and share draft accounts, loan payments, selling money orders, check cashing, Visa cash advances, Visa payments, and researching the best options for member’s needsKnowledge of all teller transaction codes and all policies directly related to the Over and Short, Check Cashing, and Power of Attorney PoliciesOpen share, share drafts, smart club, Christmas club and IRA accountsIssue, reissue, or hot card ATM cards/Visa Debit cardsAssist members with unauthorized use of ATM/Visa debit cardsMaintain a professional appearance suitable for person-to-person interviews with members of the credit union; follow guidelines of the credit union dress codeResponsible for balancing daily transactions and cash totals in an accurate, efficient and timely mannerMaintain effective oral and written communication with all credit union employees to ensure coordination and exchange of information for accomplishing credit union goalsAttend monthly staff meetings, training sessions as assigned by immediate SupervisorProcess incoming mail, night deposit mail, western union and bank to bank wiresPerformed other related duties as assigned by Supervisor or Management.Cross sell all credit union products and servicesQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:Education: High school diploma or equivalent and six months to one year of experience working in a financial institution or related field.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Retail sales and/or cash handling experienceFamiliarity with 10-Key, knowledgeable with computers, keyboard and other office equipmentAbility to enter numerical data on computer with speed and accuracyGood mathematical aptitude to facilitate daily balancingPleasant manner in dealing with credit union members and visitorsAbility to problem solve and research when necessary and to assist members with various requests and inquiresMust be computer literate and possess skills in effective written and oral communicationMust have excellent interpersonal skills; be highly motivated and well organizedAbility to work well under pressureAbility to work flexible schedule to meet member, department, and operational needsSuccessful completion of Travitor course including Teller Training, Bank Secrecy Act, and Negotiable instruments.Successful completion of in-house Teller Training ProgramACU is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Disability/Veteran employer.Principals only.
