Sunlight is a business-to-business-to-consumer, technology-enabled point-of-sale (POS) financing platform that provides residential solar or home improvement contractors the ability to offer seamless POS financing to their customers when purchasing residential solar systems or other home improvements.
These loans are funded via Sunlight’s network of capital providers who, by partnering with Sunlight, gain access to a difficult-to-reach loan market, best-in-class consumer credit underwriting and attractive risk-adjusted returns.
These loans are facilitated through Sunlight’s proprietary technology by which Sunlight offers instant credit decisions at the POS on behalf of Sunlight’s various capital providers to homeowners nationwide.
Since Sunlight’s launch in 2015, Sunlight has facilitated over $4 billion of loans through its proprietary technology-enabled POS financing platform in partnership with over 1,000 contractor relationships.
Sunlight’s success is fueled by its strong and intentional culture founded on core values such as honesty, fairness and scrappiness that drive Sunlight teammates to work with Sunlight’s contractor and capital provider partners, and the consumers they serve, to find the right result to business challenges and a way to deliver.
Also core to Sunlight’s values is a passion for Sunlight’s business and the societal benefits that Sunlight provides.
Sunlight loans facilitated to date represent more than 100,000 homeowners who have had the opportunity to save money on their utility bills and to choose renewable energy over carbon-producing traditional sources of power.
As of the end of 2020, Sunlight’s financing of residential solar systems and energy-efficient home improvement products has eliminated over 10.3 million metric tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere (and growing).
Sunlight was also certified as carbon neutral for the year 2020 and expects to maintain this certification in future.
