Job Summary
Finca La Malena is an importer/wholesaler of fine wines emphasizing Argentina, Chile and Spain, We are growing our portfolio and presence in California and have a great opportunity for you to build upon and contribute to that success.
You have a passion for wine, driven to sell great wine and a demonstrated ability to close sales with at least two years experience in your market. You think it is a great opportunity to help bring new brands to the market and diversify customer choice. Relationships with customers and potential customers is highly important to you as it is to us. You have knowledge of the wine regions and wines of Argentina, Chile and Spain. You are probably carrying another book with a complementary portfolio and that’s great.
Responsibilities and Duties
Responsibilities and Expectations include:
- Establish and grow an account base of restaurants and retailers using your existing and developing relationships
- Maintain and manage sales to and relationships with on and off premise accounts
- Be self-motivated and results oriented with a positive and professional demeanor
- Attend and contribute to sales meetings and promotions
- Setup & Conduct in-store tastings, promotional tasting events and staff training sessions; educate customers on our wines * Be a team player but work well independently
- Possess in-depth knowledge of wine varietals and regions especially those we represent
- Strong communicator relaying timely status and progress to management
- Meet sales objectives while maintaining profit objectives; use samples and promotions wisely
Qualifications and Skills
Qualifications & Requirements
- 2 years minimum experience and contacts in your market
- Wine Education and/or Certification (or working toward one) preferred
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; Bachelors Degree preferred
- 21 years or older
- Possess own reliable transportation, valid CA drivers license, clean driving record and proof of insurance
- Excellent organizational, administrative and time management skills; Professional
- Proficient in computer applications such as Email, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.
- Ability to lift and carry a 40-50 lb. case of wine as necessary
- Maintain CRM data as required
Benefits
We are looking for people to cover Southern California geographies such as Los Angeles County (various territories), Orange County, Ventura County (can include the western San Fernando Valley and/or Santa Barbara).
The positions is full commission with an expense allowance.
