Equipment Sales Representative

Sonny’s Carwash Services – West has an immediate need for an Equipment Sales Rep in our equipment sales group. Utilizes individual technical, communication and product skills to prepare sales quotations for equipment orders and relay information to customers. Develops product designs, generates sales quotations, and handles customer inquiries. Works with team members and sales representatives and coordinates with various departments. Upon completion of training, you will be given additional responsibility and will begin preparing quotations and processing orders and then managing the entire sales cycle for customers. You will learn to develop a consultative sales approach. Your primary responsibility will be working with the Regional Sales Managers on driving profitable sales in an assigned territory and accounts. As you progress, you will be given responsibility for either assigned customers or a geographic territory.

Hours: 8:00am – 5:30pm, additional hours as needed, some travel required.

Responsibilities:

Training and Gaining Proficiency in the following areas:

  • SCWS-W equipment and controls offering, as well as our competitive product offerings.
  • SCWS-W sales process. Utilizing CRM to track projects and to provide accurate territory forecasting.
  • Processes for site & equipment drawings. Assisting RSMs and distributors with site layout choices & coordination with the CAD Department for site layouts. Coordinating the delivery of completed SCWS-W mechanical drawings.
  • Process quotes and convert equipment orders utilizing the CRM and SAP systems.
  • Understands which tasks the RSM completes vs. the Equipment Coordinator in the sales process.
  • Following internal processes, policies, and procedures
  • Reviewing drawings, analyzes designs, and retrieves information to complete drawings, layout, or design.
  • Participating in regional & national trade shows
  • Other duties as assigned
As training is completed, begin:

  • Providing quotation(s) for RSM (and then directly to customers) by preparing accurate pricing for a project after reading/reviewing specifications and gathering correct documents. Responsible for creation and accuracy of project quotations.
  • Processing equipment orders and managing projects from start to finish, from time of entry thru delivery. Communicates with customers regarding pricing, scheduling shipments, and all other details related to quotations and order processing, such as pre-shipment paperwork, order changes, payments, and drop shipments. Verify appropriate changes are made to resolve customers’ requests in a timely manner. Communicate policies regarding timelines and changes clearly to customers. Coordinate any delivery date changes with Planning and Vendors and charge fees appropriately.
  • Assist RSMs in assessing potential applications of company products to meet other customer needs. Provide support and information to the Company’s sales staff and customers. Assist RSM’s with phone support to ensure phones are answered. Assist customers as required. Gather data as it pertains to a specific projects and/or customers.
  • Provide support to customers with regards to projects; identifying and resolving customer challenges, escalating as required. Assist customer with any problems on order after delivery. Assist customer with RMA/Returns request as necessary. Addresses & resolves customer issues, escalates as needed.

EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION
Education and Formal Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. High school diploma/GED required
  • 2+ years of successful technical service, engineering or field sales support experience, or 2+ years of outside sales of capital equipment or business to business value-add sales experience.
  • High computer application literacy (including Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to learn internal business systems)
Experience & Abilities:

  • Industry related experience is a plus
  • Familiar with SAP systems preferred
  • Must have a strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to guide, direct and provide technical expertise on products (or services) to colleagues, distributors, and customers.
  • Previous business to business value-add sales experience
  • Demonstrated ability to guide, direct and provide technical guidance to colleagues, representatives and customers
  • Proven track record of consistently exceeding and/or achieving goals
  • History of working in a field that required autonomy and self-motivation
  • Prior experience that required excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to communicate internally with various departments and externally with customers and distributors.
  • Ability to use strong judgement with knowledge of company policies and procedures to resolve non-standard problems.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic and ability to multi-task
Relocation is not available for this position.
Up to 30% travel required to support sales territory
Working Conditions: Majority will be an inside office environment.
Physical Demands: Regularly required to stand or sit, and move about the facility.
