Sous Chef

Michelin-Starred restaurant is seeking a Sous Chef to join the team. This chef-owned restaurant features California cuisine rooted in French techniques, utilizing only the best and freshest ingredients. Amazing opportunity for someone to join an acclaimed LA restaurant and reputable Chef. Past Michelin and tasting menu experience required. 

Sous Chef Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that all food meets the highest standards of quality and consistency
  • Leading and mentoring a strong culinary team, including hands on in the kitchen and on the line
  • Collaborate with and support the culinary management team (Executive Chef, CDC, hourly employees)
  • Proper ordering and inventory
  • Ensuring best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen
  • Keeping track of new trends in the industry
  • Creating thoughtful food that fits the aesthetic of the concept

Sous Chef Preferred Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar position (Sous Chef, Kitchen Manager, Executive Sous Chef)
  • Love for unique, quality, locally sourced ingredients
  • Excellent communication skills and leadership qualities
  • Michelin experience, tasting menu ideal
  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment
  • Highly motivated, passionate, and have a strong sense of humility
  • Exceptional standards for cleanliness, health, and safety
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends, and on holidays
