L'Antica Pizzeria da Michele

This is a Full-time position in Los Angeles, CA posted May 4, 2022.

Very successful Italian restaurant in Hollywood is looking for a pasta cook. Very competitive pay based on experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Cook and prepare menu items in accordance with recipes and standards set by the Chef

  • Follow recipes, portion controls and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant

  • Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food on the line

  • Always be aware of what's running low and sauce, etc. is needed

  • Prepare L Antica s authentic and creative pasta and risotto dishes while maintaining quality standards

  • Clean food prep areas, equipment, utensils and strictly adhere to sanitation, food safety, hygiene, and other health and safety guidelines

  • Assist in maintaining inventory by tracking, labeling, and replacing key ingredients

  • Communicate with the head chef and wait staff to ensure the timely delivery of all meals

  • Maintain a workstation that is both clean and sanitary

  • Manage inventory of food supplies

  • Taste and evaluate food items before serving

  • Manage multiple food orders at once

  • Receive raw food items from suppliers

  • Ensure that all supplied items are of good quality and accurate quantity

  • Ensure refrigeration and rotation of food items, storing food items properly and at the

    right temperature

  • Label food items appropriately

  • Discard any expired or near expiry food items

  • Arrange prepared food items in an aesthetic manner

  • Check and recheck equipment temperature to ensure the accuracy of order

  • Maintain work area by cleaning and sanitizing constantly

  • Cool food items down to standard temperatures before serving

  • Ensure dishes are served on time and in a presentable manner

  • Communicate with the Chef about any kitchen supplies and upgrades that are needed

  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned or required

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • 3 years experience in a similar position with pasta and saute experience

  • Experience in cooking long, short, and fresh noodle dishes

  • Ability to withstand large workload under high heat

  • Self starter capable of finding solutions with minimal supervision

  • Maintain a positive teamwork attitude

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Positive attitude and ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen

  • Strong communication skills

  • Availability to work evening and weekend shifts and public holidays

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Knowledge of industry standards and food safety guidelines

  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines

  • Demonstrates proper hygiene behavior

  • Willingness to continue learning and improving craft

  • Ability to offer excellent customer satisfaction

  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach overhead and perform repetitive motions
