Location : We are seeking an experienced Restaurant Chef for the below Hollywood Bowl on-site restaurants. Ann’s Wine Bar – Inspired by Suzanne and Caroline’s local a.o.c restaurant. Ann’s Wine Bar features a wide selection of Caroline Styne’s favorite new- and old-world wines to be explored by adventurous and less experienced wine drinkers alike, all paired with Suzanne Goin’s signature small-plates menu. We encourage you to make a reservation, as walk-in space is very limited. the backyard – Inspired by the gorgeous natural surroundings of the Bowl, this al fresco space has the feel of a chic backyard in the Hollywood Hills. Suzanne’s small plates are the focus of this farmers’ market-driven restaurant with a few of our favorite backyard large plates, all complimented by Caroline’s wine and beer selections. For more than 100 years, music and performance have had a central destination in Los Angeles. The Hollywood Bowl is a venue for showcasing artistic greatness and celebrating our global cultural heritage. Since its opening in 1922, the Hollywood Bowl has been the premier destination for live music in Southern California, hosting everyone from Billie Holiday to The Beatles to Yo-Yo Ma under the iconic silhouette of its concentric-arched band shell. Principal Function: The Sous Chef I is the first level of management in a Sodexo Live commercial kitchen. The Sous Chef I assures that foods are prepared using fundamental cooking techniques, seasoned for maximum taste and flavor, and served in an aesthetically pleasing manner. The Sous Chef I directs all aspects of foodservice production and service, ensuring that approved food safety and sanitation guidelines are followed. The Sous Chef I directly supervises the preparation and production of the unit’s menus and manages a shift or station in the hot kitchen, the cold kitchen and/or the bakery and pastry shop. The Sous Chef I is responsible for training, mentoring and helping to develop other Culinarians, and for monitoring and organizing the flow of activity within the kitchen in a way that complements and supports the overall operation. Essential Responsibilities: Participate as part of Culinary Leadership Team to manage a culinary department for the preparation of foods served to the customers in a consistent and timely manner. Ensure Kitchen Safety and Sanitation conforms to all Sodexo Live, regulatory, and governmental standards to provide a safe workplace producing high quality food products. Contribute to goal of 100% customer satisfaction through personal commitment to customer service and leading the culinary team by example. Qualifications/Skills: Required: Minimum of 2 years in a food preparation position. Ability to promote and participate in a team environment. Ability to understand written and oral direction and to communicate same with others. Preferred: Degree from a postsecondary culinary arts training program. ACF Professional Certification. Other Requirements: Subject to wet floors, temperature extremes and excessive noise; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in weight; must be able to maneuver in an often tightly-quartered environment.
