Job Description
An excellent cook must be able to follow instructions in cooking and delivering well-prepared meals.
They must be deft in moving around the kitchen and apt in multi-tasking.
Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is also important.
Responsibilities
- Properly execute all recipe procedures
- Prepare a variety of foods with different methods of preparation
- Follow company safety and sanitation policies and procedures
- Complete assigned prep work to stock and set up stations
Requirements
- Proven experience as cook
- Must at least speak Spanish
- Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods
- Ability to work in a team
Applicant Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least 1 year of previous food preparation experience.
- The ability to adapt to a busy kitchen environment while working closely with restaurant staff.
- Familiarity with standard equipment, ingredients, and recipes.
Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
- The ability to work on your feet for long shifts.
- Prepare quality dishes efficiently to fill customer orders in accordance with food safety standards.
- Adhere to health and safety standards, cleaning the kitchen frequently and practicing good personal hygiene.
- Maintain the freshness of all food supplies, rotating old ones out as needed.
- Store food items at the appropriate temperatures, properly clean cooking equipment after use, and ensure that the kitchen is pristine at the end of each shift.
