Job Description JOB TITLE: Cake Baker REPORTING TO: General Manager DEPARTMENT: Culinary CLASSIFICATION: Exempt DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: The Cake Baker is responsible for preparation of cake batters, cake and cupcake production, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. RESPONSIBILITIES: · Works in the kitchen in accordance with health department standards and safety standards, maintains a clean and sanitary work environment · Ensures adherence to weekly & monthly production schedules and quality standards, ensuring recipes are followed 100% of the time · Ensures display cases are full every morning and back-up product supply is ready to meet business needs · Builds efficient culinary labor schedules that are consistent with sales forecasts and focus on having little to no waste LEADERSHIP ATTRIBUTES: · Creates a fun, lively, and celebratory environment that is free of harassment, hostility, and dishonesty · Leads by example and demonstrates what it means to be a good team member SKILLS/EXPECTATIONS: · Must be comfortable with afternoon/night shifts. PUNCTUALITY is a must · Must be able to work weekends and holidays · Able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds · Bilingual in English and Spanish not required, but preferred · Ability to read & write English · FULL TIME HOURS · Must have reliable transportation to get to work on time daily · Ability to work with minimal supervision is a must · Must be able to show proof of ServSafe certification upon hire · Must be 18 years or older to apply · Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours). · Expected to maintain quality control and maintaining kitchen & storeroom organization. · Maintain and sanitize baking utensils, tools, implements and machinery, and maintain the premises of baking area in a neat and hygienic manner. · Must be able to wear a mask for the duration of the shift · Must have experience making tart/pie doughs & cookie doughs · Must have experience making frostings, such as cream cheese, buttercream, mousses, whipped cream, etc, and cake batters · MUST BE ABLE TO FOLLOW A RECIPE, BAKE CAKES & CUPCAKES, FROST CAKES & CUPCAKES · Knowledge and EXPERIENCE with laminated doughs and VEGAN baking are PLUSSES Hotcakes Bakes is an equal opportunity employer.
