Overview
The Writer/Editor/Copy Editor supports the News editorial team on article generation for broader theatrical and IP titles and campaigns. As a writer, they will attend virtual press events for upcoming films and series, and bring their unique voice and creativity to article coverage that is engaging to audiences and within brand and marketing guidelines. Within the editorial aspect of this role, they are responsible for project-managing article creation from ideation to approvals. This includes corresponding and maintaining relationships with the Studio Marketing teams and various stakeholders; assigning articles either to themself or to another writer on the roster; gathering relevant SEO, backlinks, and assets for article inclusion; understanding the News brand voice and reviewing and ensuring that articles are reflective of the best-in-class storytelling that the company is known for; routing articles for Brand and legal approvals; managing and uploading articles into the CMS; managing the News content calendar and trackers; and working with international teams to ensure localization requests are approved. During out-of-office periods for our Sr. Copy Editor, this role will also step in to support the copyediting needs of News articles and broader Social/Digital content.
