Word Processor

The Word Processor works in a team-oriented environment and is responsible for providing first-class legal administrative support to the firm, including attorneys, paralegals, secretaries and others. This individual must make sound judgments handling work and communicating with others.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create, edit, and format documents using a variety of applications.
  • Create master captions/Proofs of Service for new matters; and create shells for court filings and responsive shells.
  • OCR documents; convert, clean and format documents to/from different file formats.
  • Create Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities within existing legal documents, using appropriate formatting, coding, and related software.
  • Assist with other projects, including but not limited to time entries, entering expense reimbursements, and opening new matters.
  • Assist with Reception coverage as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Minimum of two years word processing, secretarial or legal administrative experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of litigation life cycle preferred.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Professional or Nuance.
  • iManage or other comparable document management system experience preferred.
  • Ability to accomplish tasks quickly and thoroughly with a high degree of accuracy and to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work as a productive team member, contributing to the concept of continuous improvement of the department and its service offerings.
