Our teams are creating the future of integrated curriculum and assessments to transform the way teachers teach and students learn.A Day in the Life as a Professional Development SpecialistA dedicated PDS for LAUSD is responsible for supporting the implementation of the LAUSD contract.
The responsibilities include:* The PDS will attend the bi-weekly meetings with the Local District & DOI teams to review thedata, updates, successes, challenges, etc.
The PDS is expected to attend and be prepared to discuss the ongoing professional development services and follow-up with the schools that are identified and discussed during the meeting.
LAUSD expects site-specific training throughout the year on the programs identified in the contract.* Schedule full day sessions in one school, two-three site visits a day, or virtual sessions dependent upon the type of workshop or targeted support sessions requested.* PDS should be in the schools or LD office 4 days a week.
A day is defined as 6 hrs.* Analyzing data and mid/end of year reports to support schools.
Meetings to review the mid/end of year data with schools or Local Districts.* Providing detailed delivery notes after every session.
Delivery notes are housed in NetSuite or Smartsheet depending on the project.* Follow-up each site visit with an e-mail that outlines what was accomplished, suggestions, goals and objectives for the school/teachers and next check-in date.
The follow-up e-mail should be sent to the school contact person, Account Manager, Account Executives and Professional Development Manager.* Maintain an updated calendar so that AEs and PD Manager are aware of site visits.* Weekly calls or communication with AEs to update them on status of trainings & meetings.* Participate in team check-in meetings, providing direction and leadership.* Using electronic sign-in sheets for each session.* Administering a participant survey after every session* Check in with administrators before and after each session.* Deliver engaging, meaningful workshops & trainings that meet theidentified needs of the educators.* Schedule time following trainings to debrief with the PD Manager when requested.Qualifications* Bachelor’s degree in related field.* Experience in K-12 Education required.* Experience in delivering successful professional development, training, and/ or consulting services in an educational environment.* Strong presentation and facilitation skills and previous experience training with technology products.* Excellent written and extraordinary oral communication skills.* Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.* Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships with teachers and administrators.* Ability to be flexible and able to adapt to the immediate or unforeseen challenges.* Superb computer skills, particularly MS Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat Reader.* Willingness and ability to travel up to 100%.* Must have an acceptable driving record.Compensation and BenefitsWe offer competitive salaries and benefit choices.
