(Vehicle) Rail Loader

For this position, you MUST be able to work outside 100% of the time, have a valid Driver’s License, and be able to drive a Manual Transmission (stick shift) Vehicle or willing to learn how to drive a Manual Transmission.

We are located in Vancouver, WA.

This is a very physically demanding position that requires you to work in tight spaces, climb ladders, and lift bridge plates.

This will primarily be a Monday-Friday position with the shift of 7:00am-3:30 pm however due to the vessel schedule

This is a general overview of the position, not an all-inclusive list of activities.Essential Functions, Duties & Tasks:Prepare rail car for loadingOpen/Close rail car doorsRaise and lower rail car decksOperate loading ramp and position correctly for safe vehicle entryProperly set rail car bridge plates in placeShuttle vehicles onto the rail carsCheck vehicles for damageReport damage or miss bays to lead, supervisor, or managerDrive customer vehicles onto rail cars from staging lines in a safe and efficient mannerSecure vehicles in the rail carsApply chains or chocks, as required by manufacturers, to ensure the vehicle is secureWalk the deck to verify vehicles are properly loaded and securedVarious duties as assigned or required to help the facility function in a team environmentAdhere to all AWC and AAR safety standardsTrain new employees and temporary workersKnowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:Able to follow directions, both written and verbalAble to adhere to strict quality standards without varianceGood visual abilityKnowledge of the use of hand tools (i.e., wrenches, screwdrivers, ratchets, etc.)Must have a good sense of balanceAble to work at a height approximately 15 feet above the groundAble to lift up to 50 pounds overheadAble to push, pull, or carry up to 85 poundsAble to pass Safe Driving, Rail, and Buck Ramp quizzes with 80% accuracy or betterAble to stand, walk, and work outdoors in all weather conditionsEducation, Experience & Minimum Requirements:Valid driver’s license; good driving record6 months work experiencePreferred Requirements:?Experience working in a team environmentAuto Warehousing Company, including its subsidiaries, is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, gender, age, veteran status, political affiliation, sexual orientation, marital status or disability (in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act) with respect to employment opportunities.
