Job Description
We are looking for a Tax Principal to join our diverse group of teammates in one of our local offices in Southern California. If you are currently a principal or an experienced director ready to take the next step in your career, this may be the right opportunity for you.
We want someone who:
- Helps us achieve the firm’s strategic plan.
- Has an entrepreneurial point of view.
- Will participates in the development of a service line business plan.
- Provides direction and leadership for their preferred service line.
- Manages the performance of a client portfolio or overall business functions.
- Defines a client assignment strategy, objective, scope, and pricing.
- Manages assignment risks relative to client and firm requirements.
- Addresses profitability based on best practices and experience.
- Manages client expectations for deliverables, service, and budget.
- Identifies opportunities for the development of new services.
- Looks for and finds cross-selling opportunities to refer others in the firm.
- Initiates, participates, and supports practice development activities, including:
- Networking, industry associations, community involvement
- Identifying prospects
- Understanding how to communicate our value
- Good at overcoming objections
- And integrating these into proposals
- Bringing a book of business is a plus.
- Ability to generate new revenue of $100k plus per year from new clients and extended services (wealth management, M&A, Data Analytics, etc.), as well as our KBKG products (Cost Segregation, Green Energy Incentives, Research Credits, IC-Disc, etc.)
- Strong interest in enhancing Business development skills – generating leads, contacts, and securing clients.
Requirements:
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or JD (required)
- 8+ years current public accounting experience
- Masters of Tax, or LLM Tax is helpful
