Sr. Internal Auditor

Northrop Grumman Federal Credit Union (NGFCU) is currently seeking Sr.

Internal Auditor who will be responsible for performing independent internal audits as part of the total internal audit plan.

This position is remote, however candidate must live in California.

Responsibilities:
Perform internal audits
– Develop internal audit scope, perform fieldwork, and prepare internal audit reports reflecting the results of the work performed.

Work performed will include coverage of functional and operating units and focus on financial, IT and operational processes.
Perform continuous audits on a monthly or quarterly frequency.
Follow-up on the status of outstanding internal audit issues.
Work with stakeholders in the various departments and collaborate on process enhancements.
Will assist internal audit management with periodic reporting to the audit committee, development of the annual internal audit plan, and championing internal control and corporate governance concepts throughout the business.
Direct, assist and review the work performed by other internal audit personnel, including resources from the external auditors and regulators.
Perform branch audits at various locations in the country.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or relevant experience.
4+ years of internal audit experience.
CIA,CFE or CPA designation desired.
Banking experience preferred.
Understanding of internal control concepts and experience in applying them to plan, perform, manage and report on the evaluation of various business processes/areas/functions.
Ability to work independently, with limited required direction and guidance, and provide appropriate direction to other stakeholders on control issues.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, to effectively present to management.
Understanding of internal auditing standards, COSO and risk assessment practices.
Must be proficient in MS Products.
Must be able to travel 10% of time when needed.
