We are actively seeking a Fullstack Engineer to focus on the Tips team.
We’ve got a small but tight knit team filled with cross functional and amazing people.
As a member of Tips you will be at the bleeding edge of our customer facing interfaces and building backend services that will scale to our user base of over 20 million users!
You will leverage several technologies such as NodeJS, Python, Scala, Google’s suite of storage options (Spanner/Cloud Storage/Big Query), and Analytical clickstream data.
On the backends we run a microservices architecture using Docker and Kubernetes.
On the front ends we primarily live in our cornerstone product of the extension.
You can expect to work with a diverse set of critical teams such as the Extension, Website, Mobile, Droplist, Offers, and Honey Pay.
Your contribution will impact how we ensure that Honey is the better way to buy, by providing high impact information when our users are making their purchasing decisions.
Overall on the engineering team, we value a can-do attitude, collaboration, learning, and curiosity.
As a backend engineer you will be expected to develop solutions the will power our features.
The back end is in its infancy for the Tips team so one of the main drivers for this role will be to help work with the team and infrastructure already in place to handle the load and throughput of our user base.
You will be building microservices to build data sets for loading new and exciting tips to our front end.
You will also be building backend workers to create new insights to power our growing library of tips.
You will be interacting with a cross functional team which includes Product Managers, Analysts, Designers, and obviously other engineers both on the team and organization wide.
What You’ll Do:
As a Backend Engineer at Honey, you will:
- Build new APIs and Endpoints
- Build new Insights to power our tips
- Implement analytic data events on features you or the team builds
- Understand microservices architecture
- Build Unit tests for your code
- Understand and leverage existing Honey core APIs
- Understand how to deal with scale
- Communicate and problem-solve with teammates
About You:
- Building workers/jobs to power new content
- Understand Pub / Sub Architecture
- Using Python, Scala, and Node
- Building APIs with Express / GraphQL
- Building and maintaining databases
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
- GraphQL
- Test automation and test-driven development experience
- Microservices Architecture experience
- Experience with A/B testing
- Previous work with Scale
