Sr. Business Analyst, Supply Chain

Job Description This position has a hybrid work arrangement for our Raleigh Corporate Headquarters.

SUMMARY Develops reporting and processes to support merchandising initiatives which include coordinating associated departments and monitoring the company’s merchandising systems.

Reviews and evaluates analytics that illuminate customer demand and sales trends, determines where to place new reporting or data may be beneficial and is a resource for ad-hoc requests.

Requires a bachelor’s degree.

Typically reports to top management.

Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility.

May give input into developing the budget.

Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.

This Senior Business Analyst creates analytics and reporting to support the business teams, merchandising and other stakeholders, to ensure service levels are within specified targets and can support the sales forecasts for the company.

Analyst also drives and manages processes, relationships, and working activities with Merchants, Vendors, Market Availability, Visual Merchandising, Transportation, Field Teams, and Distribution Centers to ensure they run smoothly.

This organization is excited to move forward with the development of a Supply Chain Analytics Center of Excellence ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Collect and analyze information to support the strategic and operating plans of the business.

Complete what-if scenarios and contingency planning analyses.

Provide variance analysis and business driver analysis to support decision-making.

This includes effectively communicating and translating the results into business insights.

Responsible for collecting, analyzing, interpreting and reporting data, identifying insights & leading in the creation of new processes to support the overall optimization processes.

Provide strategic analysis and thought, lead specific projects and programs while also quantifying and communicating the business opportunities and risks.

This role is expected to develop and maintain cross-functional relationships and lead both horizontally and vertically to accomplish their assigned tasks and targets.

Identifies and interprets short & long term business trends as they impact the productivity of AAP inventory.

Uses rigorous logic and methods, develops effective solutions to difficult problems.

Continuously improves upon processes that maximize inventory productivity by minimizing end of life product.

Effectively partners and communicates.

Is an expert in the drivers of unproductive inventory as well as unproductive sku remediation tactics.

Is able to present and communicate analysis to meet the audience needs.

Monitor Inventory metrics, highlighting areas of risk with solution options.

Be the primary partner for cross-functional stakeholders to understand key business metrics and definitions.

Champion business data strategies with a central source of truth that drives multi-platform content, product and marketing optimizations as well as accountability across the organization.

Create insightful and well-organized presentations that contribute to overall business needs and goals, explaining complex situations clearly and simply.

Improve usability, consistency, relevance, timeliness, and responsiveness of current technologies.

Respond to ad hoc requests from other departments.

Provide technical expertise around reporting databases relating to several functional areas.

Demonstrate expertise and guide functional groups to ensure reporting requirements are identified, designed, and distributed appropriately, highlighting and interpreting issues, trends, and variances within the data.

Partner with other teams in accurately forecasting sales results and inventory order needs for promotions.

Drive improved Inventory Turn through forecast accuracy improvements.

Achievement of budgeted goals and metrics for business categories.

Monitor POG purchases, seasonal builds, and forward buys.

Identify and communicate inventory changes to other teams.

Work collaboratively to increase Inventory and DC efficiencies.

Partner to improve vendor performance results in key areas: on time delivery, overall cost reduction, and order fill accuracy.

Implement inventory plans, ensuring the sharing of information between Inventory, Merchandising, Visual Merchandising, Market Availability, Commercial, Supply Chain and Field Teams is accurate and timely.

Proactively and effectively seek input and feedback from internal and external partners to resolve issues.

Effectively share clear, concise, accurate information that caters to the levels of detail needed by recipients.

In follow up to immediate issue resolution, put in place sustainable systems and process improvements that prevent issue recurrence and improve company results.

Proficient in the use of MS Office Products Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Project Knowledge of data warehousing, database structuring and data mining Experience in combining data from various sources together to produce cross-functional analytics, including clinical trial data Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills, including facilitation skills Strong analytical skills in assessing business processes, systems, and information flows, as well as compiling and assessing data Customer-oriented focus and ability to work in cross-functional teams Experience with various reporting platforms (ex.

PowerBI, Business Objects); experience with programming language R or Python; experience with Oracle & MS database technologies is highly desirable Strong business acumen and Supply Chain knowledge Strong interpersonal and influencing skills Ability to resolve high profile issues Good judgment and decision-making ability Understanding of the data processes and information flow within the E3 forecasting and replenishment systems; complete understanding of E3 modules and supporting software; Understanding of the supply chain; ability to see the organization as an integrated whole and understanding how each component contributes to the achievement of organizational goals and objectives Ability to operate in a complex, rapidly changing environment while adhering to tight schedules Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously ensuring timely and accurate completion of each; outcome-focused and experienced in project management as a means to plan, track, communicate progress and ensure on time delivery of projects.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Merchandising, Logistics, or Mathematics; etc.
