Business Analyst Forecasting is responsible for using strong analytical skills and advanced forecasting techniques to predict future sales and present data in report form to various levels of management.
A typical day involves assessing historical sales trends to make determinations through the collection, aggregation and evaluation of data by leveraging advanced visualization techniques with proficiency in Python, R, or SQL.
The role also requires continuous improvement in developing new analytics, models, and simulations.Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the daily analysis and execution of forecast for all business channelsExtract data, consolidate several large sets of data into databases to generate reports to maintain forecasts, ad-hoc reports, and dashboards in support of the business; ensure data accuracy Develop forecast strategies for special events, seasonal items, and new item transitionsApply analytic methodologies to review forecasts, sales trends and advertising strategies to provide business insight when purchasing and maintaining appropriate inventory levelsCollaborate with other key departments to understand strategic directions and adjust forecasting inventory levelsCommunicate regularly with multiple departments within the organization to align key strategies and identify and resolve supply chain issuesGuide, influence, and train other associates on the adaption to new tooling, models and reporting.Translate business needs into solutions by gathering requirements and communicating those for development; develop new reports andanalyses, along with insights and deliverables, to various levels of management, to better support the businessMaintain close working relationship with other departments in and out of inventory for the purposes of collaboration on new projects or process improvement through support and leadership.Perform quality work within deadlines, managing multiple projects simultaneouslyWork independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other associates.Participate in project meetings; summarize process and system improvements or concernsPerforms other duties as assignedRegular attendance is required as an essential job functionScope (Required)Staff supervision and development — NoDecision making-Resolves problems and provides data for decision support Provides consultation or expert adviceTravel – minimal 5% max Location— Remote
