Space Systems Modeling & Simulation Technical Advisor

Job Number: 1270Riverside Research is seeking a full-time Space Systems Modeling & Simulation Technical Advisor at Los Angeles Air Force Base (AFB), California. This position will be part of a multidisciplinary team coordinating technical interchanges related to space object modeling & simulation between the National Space Intelligence Center (NSIC) and Space Systems Command (SSC).All Riverside Research opportunities require U.S. Citizenship.Job Responsibilities:Establish, coordinate, and facilitate technical interchanges on space systems modeling & simulation between NSIC and SSC; identify additional participants with shared mission interestDetermine customer requirements for modeling & simulation products of adversary space and counterspace systems/capabilitiesSurvey existing modeling & simulation standards used by the Department of Defense (DoD), the Intelligence Community (IC), United States Space Force (USSF), and Space Systems Command (SSC) to enable use in common modeling environmentsIdentify strengths, weaknesses, as well as direct and indirect costs, of various standards; consider the need for different standards across product linesSupport verification and validation of modeling & simulation standardsRequired Qualifications:Active TS clearance with SCI adjudicationBachelor’s degree in engineering, software development, computer science or similar technical fieldsIntelligence professional with a minimum of 10 years’ experience supporting all aspects of the intelligence cycleExperience in modeling and simulation of various types of space vehiclesEffective/efficient written/verbal communication skills; proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint and ExcelSelf-motivated, detail oriented, responsible team player able to work independently with minimal daily directionAbility to work and interact with technically and organizationally diverse personnelOpen to occasional travelDesired Qualifications:Familiarity with Space Systems Command (SSC) mission and organizationFamiliarity with National Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) intelligence analysis and production processesMaster’s degree in engineering, software development, computer science or similar technical fieldsFamiliarity with various software languages and applications to include Python, Systems Took Kit, and Orbit Determination Tool KitOur salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is: $170,000.00 – $200,000.00 annually
