Primary Purpose:Functions as the department’s expert in Gas Operations, Meter and Regulation, or Customer Service Field to improve field guidance support reporting, analytics, and Integrity Management policy.Manages the development of Company programs impacting policies and procedures by operations organizations.Manages and directs multiple projects and tasks within the department, including development of work scope, budget, schedule, and resource requirements.Develops methodologies for solving specific technical problems and manages the application of those methodologies by Company personnel.Represents the Company’s interests on industry committees involved with formulation and modification of codes and standards.Supports analytic and research efforts through their field knowledge.Duties and Responsibilities:Develops and reviews gas distribution procedures associated with activities involving data collection.
Prescribes methods and requirements used to collect data and provides guidance on data stored to ensure ability to report results.Provides technical assistance to clients through the support of programs, technology and strategic applications.Tests and evaluates new technologies in support of improved analytics.Plans and coordinates project implementation and hand off to clients.Serves as a consultant and project leader on special teams, utilizing individual skills and teamwork to resolve issues.Education:A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geography, Computer Science, Mathmatics, or a degree that incorporates identified qualifications for this position.
Preferred.Experience:A minimum of 5 years of experience.
Required.Experience organizing and/or maintaining data processes to meet ongoing information lifecycle needs.Knowledge of the field operations processes and distribution system components such as piping, pipeline coatings, valves, tools regulators, meters, etc.Experience with providing support for operations data collection activities such as activities to repair failures and damages to pipelines resulting in an unintended gas emission.Experience with applications used to prepare (e.G.
union, join, calculate, transpose, etc) and analyze data sets.Experience with developing simulation test procedures for evaluating prototype tools and equipment required.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Proficiency in gathering and analyzing data to develop sound, logical, alternative solutions to existing field operations.Working knowledge of project management principles.Able to manage, coordinate and plan several projects simultaneously.Effective oral and written communication skills to develop and present technical information to diverse audiences.
