You would be joining our multidisciplinary team focusing on technical excellence and innovative solutions that shape a better future for people and the planet.We are looking for a Senior Climate & Sustainability Leader to join our rapidly growing Western USA geography, based in one of our west-coast offices (Seattle, San Francisco, Oakland & Los Angeles). You will be a key member of our Americas West climate and sustainability portfolio (CSSP) leadership team, growing work and delivering transformational advisory and design projects for key clients across the public, private and non-profit sectors.Your work will encompass three main areas.1. **Market-focused seller-doer** to grow our presence and profile in the Geography, through direct market engagement and collaboration with other business and office leaders, helping support new pursuits and progress early-stage design strategies on a cross section of these markets.1. Provide **coaching, mentorship, vision, and skills development** to sustainability professionals in the geography.2. Work with geography leadership to be a high-profile **advocate for sustainable development** practices across all disciplines and businesses.As a market-facing senior leader in the Climate Services and Sustainability Portfolio, you will lead raising our profile across markets and industry groups, with a particular focus on the Healthcare, Property, Cities and Decarbonization markets, and with providing guidance regarding skills and staffing needs to align with our strategic aims**Responsibilities of this specific role will include, but not be limited to the following:**+ Developing the annual business plan and setting strategic direction for the West region.+ Support delivering climate & sustainability services on Arup multidisciplinary projects across the West Geography+ Leading bids for climate & sustainability services across the West+ Lead business development and market connections for climate & sustainability services in the West Geography+ Developing sustainable strategies for projects and communicating these to clients and project teams+ Growing the climate & sustainability services annual revenue and projects delivered.+ Act as a supervisor of sustainability professionals+ Supervising and nurturing staff, both as individuals and as part of a vibrant and collaborative team environment.**Qualifications****Required:**+ Bachelor s Degree in Environmental Science, Architecture, Engineering, Planning, Science, Policy or related field.+ 15 years+ of experience in delivery of climate & sustainability services in either/or: 1) buildings and/or 2) infrastructure projects.+ Specialist knowledge in one of the following sub-sectors sustainable buildings, sustainability strategy, circular economy, decarbonization or health and wellness.+ Professional Licensure or accreditation in appropriate field (PMP, AICP, LEED, PE, RA)+ Demonstrated leadership experience in climate and sustainability services+ Commercial/finance skills and ability to develop fee proposals, with experience acting as a project manager / project director on prior projects.+ Team building and mentorship.+ Ability to use standard office software.**Desirable:**+ Master s Degree in Resilience, Sustainability, Climate Change or related field+ Published papers in resilience, decarbonization or sustainability+ Digital skill+ Deep connectivity with the market where you are based (Seattle, San Francisco, Oakland or Los Angeles)+ Broader connectivity with markets in the West.**LA hiring range -** The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Los Angeles is $160K to $220K per year. Benefits are not included in the base salary.
