University Advancement at USC is seeking aSenior Learning and Development Specialistto join its operation. University Advancement drives the universitys comprehensive efforts to build relationships with its philanthropic communities and to secure resources that ensure USCs global leadership in higher education. Reporting to Senior Executive Director of Learning and Performance, the Senior Learning and Development Specialist will serve as a learning ambassador to all advancement employees and work in concert with the Senior Executive Director of Learning and Performance to design, develop and deliver ongoing advancement training and professional development programs. The qualified candidate will act as a central onboarding coordinator, ensuring all new advancement employees receive information about and access to advancement systems and training and successfully acculturate within USCs advancement professional community. They will coordinate efforts to communicate training and professional development programs to all advancement employees, as well as track and measure participation. They will maintain a learning management system and intranet through which advancement employees complete on-demand training, and access work-related resources. They will collect and analyze feedback from training participants used to evaluate training success and determine future training needs. They will accomplish other administrative tasks when needed that support learning goals in advancement and that uphold a workplace culture based on USCs unifying values.

Responsibilities: + Acts as a liaison to all advancement professionals across USC by helping employees obtain access to advancement systems, find resources and identify appropriate points of contact to accomplish work. Promotes a workplace culture that is welcoming and inclusive in interactions with all advancement employees, with a focused attention on new hires. + Coordinates with hiring managers in University Advancement and school-based development offices during the early stages of hiring to provide new employees access to relevant systems, tools, and resources needed to conduct day-to-day work. Facilitates interactions between new advancement employees and internal service provider to address needs or resolve issues with respect to advancement systems access. + Cultivates a breadth of knowledge about University Advancement, and advancement-related policies, procedures, systems, applications and services that can be deployed to address questions or offer direction to employees, especially those newly hired. + Responds to all communications in a timely and professional manner. Prioritizes competing requests when needed. Demonstrates behaviors that align with USC values in all interactions with colleagues and in the planning and execution of day-to-day work. + Participates in the assessment of training needs, in collaboration with advancement managers and subject matter experts positioned throughout university. Assists with determining the most effective learning methods and tools, based on the assessment of training needs, as well as in the subsequent creation of training development and implementation timelines. + Designs, develops, evaluates and updates training content and related materials, as needed. Manages relationships with external training vendors, as assigned. + Coordinates and schedules all instructor-led, in-person and virtual training programs (e.g., University Advancement Orientation, Introduction to Salesforce, etc.) for advancement employees. + Collaborates with advancement communication specialists to maintain an internal calendar and registration site where advancement employees are directed to register for in-person and virtual training events. Facilitates the design and distribution of internal communications to promote training programs, as well as media (participant guides, slides, etc.) used to facilitate training. Communicates directly, as needed, with facilitators and participants about details concerning training. + Tracks completion of on-demand training programs, as well as monitors and reports on participation in live, in-person and virtual training events. Prepares usage and participation reports, to inform decisions related to the development of future training programs. + Prepares expense and reimbursement reports for training-related expenditures, tracks training expenses for estimating future budget needs, and submits vendor invoices, as needed, to the business office for payment. + Cultivates new knowledge with respect to higher education advancement as well as talent development that may impact the development and delivery of training programs. Establishes and maintains an appropriate internal and external networks of like professionals to exchange ideas, stay abreast on trends and help problem-solve. Attends appropriate conferences and maintains membership in work-relevant professional associations. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. Experience in working with a variety of internal/external stakeholders within a complex organization, and planning and organization of multiple projects with concurrent deadlines. + Experience in developing and conducting training classes. Thorough knowledge of curriculum development, instructional materials, and needs assessment. Preferred Education: + Masters Degree Preferred Experience: + 5+ years development and conducting training programs. + Experience working in higher education and/or in higher education advancement. + Experience in using survey software or a learning management system. The salary range for this position is $86,835 $100,000.
