Security Specialist – $1,000 Sign On Incentive

POSITION SUMMARY: The Security Specialist is responsible for assisting the Director of Physical Security in the management of the physical security of all Wescom and Wescom CUSO’s, including incident response; crisis management; robbery and threat assessment response. Provides assistance to other departments as necessary to reduce credit union losses and protect member accounts. Executes the security program within the scope of the security function, provides training materials and instructions to All Staff regarding essential Security and Safety procedures. Generates and presents reports and other technical information to the Director of Physical Security as required. Maintains the highest level of confidentiality as it pertains to sensitive information and controls. ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS: Serves as a point of contact for after hours for security related incidences, on call 24/7. Establishes and maintains liaison with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies and federal and state credit union authorities. Supports the Director of Physical Security in coordinating arrests and prosecutions with local, state, or federal law enforcement agencies. Complies with all local, state, or federal statutes governing arrest, evidence and prosecution. Responds and interfaces immediately to workplace disturbances, injuries, incidents and other occurrences in order to assure a safe and secure workplace. Researches, investigates, conducts interviews, and retrieves documents and evidence. Files criminal reports and prepares case reports as needed. Represents the credit union on various legal matters as they pertain to security events. Conducts periodic inspections of Wescom facilities to ensure compliance with NCUA Section 748 and the Credit Union’s own protection policies and procedures. Assists the Director of Physical Security in planning, design, and implementation of facility security systems including intrusion/hold up alarms, surveillance systems, access control systems, and security devices. Performs training following industry best practices. This includes the management of the badging systems and issuance of badges and determination of access controls to the building. May provide oversight of daily credit union operations. Monitors dual control for single branch opening by reviewing cameras in live mode. Retains all combinations for cash holding facilities for purposes of redundancy. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Minimum a Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years of experience of physical security work in the financial industry or similar experience working physical security in a corporate setting required. Understanding of access control and camera systems required. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of credit union policies and practices, including all aspects of branch operations and products. Knowledge, application, and understanding of state and federal regulations pertaining to financial fraud reporting techniques. Knowledge of investigative and interviewing techniques as well as strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and ability to interact with all levels of management and with volunteers. Maintain utmost confidentially of accounts and/or employees under investigation. Ability to read and extract information from blue prints and floor plans to project. COMPUTER SKILLS: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
