About the Position:

Leads the planning, development, and deployment of training and performance support initiatives for an SAP S/4HANA implementation. The full realization of the benefits of the implementation is expected to go far beyond the go live, making this a permanent position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work as the key resource on the CRL training team to lead and coordinate all the training related to CRL’s SAP Implementation.
  • Work collaboratively with third-party system integrator
  • Manage the requirements of multiple company implementations in differing phases of implementation and multiple go lives planned in the next 24 months.
  • Interface and communicate constantly with all members of CRL’s SAP Implementation Team.
  • Closely work with business process owners to identify key trainers in each of the processes and superusers who will support each function. 
  • Develop training project plans and timeline that support the effective training on a just in time approach and ready prior to go live.
  • Participate in process development discussions to walk through existing processes and procedures, and link those to the functionality of SAP to assist companies in developing processes and procedures for their companies within the SAP functionality.
  • Train CRL’s super-users on SAP system functionality with a thorough and complete understanding of such functionality.
  • Assist company super-users in the training of all end users in SAP system functionality.
  • Support companies onsite for the weeks leading up to and following go-live on the SAP solution.
  • Troubleshoot problems with systems and processes to ensure the optimal system and business functionality.
  • Provide on-going SAP training support and training refreshers as well as new hire training related to SAP.
  • Develop a comprehensive training and development plan to fully realize the benefits of a state-of-the-art ERP system, including creating new programs post- go live as enhanced processes are implemented, as well as creating materials to efficiently train and integrate new users in all business functions.
  • Assist the parent company, Oldcastle Building Envelope, in the development of Centers-of-Excellence and Shared-Services models as required.
  • Communicate effectively with all required Business Process Owners and various project teams to provide complete SAP training support.
  • Coordinate all the facilitation and logistics for effective training sessions.
  • Manage all the reporting and training records related to SAP.
  • Support CRL’s organizational change management initiatives related to effective training and communication.
  • Thrive in a fast paced environment with a customer centric mindset.
  • Guiding the team members with industry best business practices related to effective training.
  • Some limited ad hoc travel to various locations in US and Canada as needed.
  • Other duties as needed/assigned.

Skills, Knowledge and Ability Requirements

To be considered for the SAP Training Specialist position, the following are required:

  • Project Management skills
  • Experience implementing training programs
  • Ability to apply adult learning theory
  • Experience utilizing instructional design
  • Experience delivering train the trainer programs
  • Understands training development life cycle in an ERP environment (SAP)
  • Experience with ERP implementation and training dependencies
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Ability to work in ambiguity
  • Experience in successful enterprise wide transformations and change management
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills including formal and informal presentations
  • Knowledge of training evaluation mechanisms

Other Skills, Education, Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 7+ years of experience leading and delivering enterprise wide training programs
  • Highly proficient in PowerPoint and Microsoft Office Programs
  • Experience with training development tools (Enable Now)
  • Experience with SAP and SAP S/4HANA, Fiori, SuccessFactors
