As the BASIS Technical Lead, you will provide leadership of daily operations for SAP BASIS, including oversight and accountability for relevant global incident/event/request queues, advanced people management of direct and indirect reports within the team.
Including all PMP processes.
Leadership of critical incident response, ensuring appropriate assessment, troubleshooting, escalation and engagement of resources across all teams and leadership of incident resolution/service restoration.
Provide oversight and governance for projects, execute project plans, provide project estimates and landscape recommendations.
Willing to work in a fast-paced environment and cooperate with various project teams, including production support teams located off premises;
Responsibilities:
Installing, monitoring, tuning, troubleshooting SAP applications and SAP HANA Databases; Understanding the nature of OLTP and OLAP systems, including specific roles of SAP SOH, BW, PO, Solution Management, SLT, Gateway, Enterprise Portal.
Redwood knowledge is a plus; Understanding the SAP application architecture, SAP NetWeaver technology (ABAP and Java, alike), instance, work-process nature and roles, ICM, IDOCs, BAPIs, RFCs, Logon Load Balancing, Saprouter configuration and setup; Understanding the SAP HANA technology, detailed understanding of in-memory computing, backups and restores, BACKINT, SAP HANA Cockpit and SAP HANA Studio, HANA Replication Services solutions; Understanding high-availability, disaster-recovery concepts and Sap technology surrounding those scenarios; System landscape configurations and operations: administrating Sap applications: starting/stopping SAP instances , printer management , Sap security operations , monitoring the Sap system for health and performance issues , background jobs management operations, transport management system , Sap kernel updates , SAP application upgrades, implementing Sap OSS notes , applying SAP add-ons and support packages, application tuning; Deployment approach and strategies for SAP GUI, EPM add-on, Analysis for Office (AOE), SAP HANA Studio; Good understanding of best Sap practices, archiving, system copies, single-sign-on, encryption, SAP SNC; Integrating and operating 3rd party applications required for change management process, monitoring, troubleshooting; Following protocols and standards specific to SAP large scale implementation; Familiar with Oracle RDBMS and other database systems: understanding backups, restores, tablespace maintenance, index rebuilds, segment statistics collection, table partitioning, cost based optimizer, SQL tracing, locks, deadlocks, high-availability solutions such as Oracle RAC.
SAP MaxDB knowledge is a plus; Familiar with UNIX operating systems, networking and infrastructure concepts that are related to SAP environments: OS commands, OS account administration, disk and volume management, file system concepts, LANS, WANS, Routers, DNS, VPN, NAT, TCP/IP protocols, etc.; Familiar with AWS concepts is a plus (cloud, zones, network load balancers, application load balancers, file-system solutions, etc.); Experience working with SAP support on troubleshooting various issues: understanding the nature of the problem, raising OSS incidents, providing necessary support to SAP analyst to investigate problems.
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or higher.
Experience:
15 or more years of SAP BASIS work experience;
Demonstrated SAP HANA, AWS public cloud experience required;
Hands-on, in-depth SAP BASIS knowledge;
Ability to work collaboratively across project teams;
Ability to work flexible hours based on varying business requirements;
Experience in Fiori and advance SAP stacks;
Experience working with Java, Python, .NET, SQL, stored procedures is a plus;
Ability to lead resolution of complex application problems through collaborative troubleshooting;
Ability to work in a matrixed environment;
Experience in Media and Entertainment industry is desirable.
