The Proposals Specialist is responsible for developing complex proposals in the Industrial/EPC/ABB2ABB market segments in the USA.This resource will analyse RFP documents before implementing a plan of attack to develop a Clean, Competitive,Compliant, and Compelling Proposal. Resource will configure products and engage other proposal resources as needed. Equal time should be spent on the Commercial proposal, as is spent on the Technical proposal.

Your responsibilities

  • Develop Clean, Competitive, Compliant, and Compelling proposals for projects in the Industrial/EPC/ABB2ABB segments
  • Review proposal requests to ensure that they are high-probability/high-profitability
  • Ensure that proposals are adhering to all ABB processes
  • Proactively seek necessary training, resources, and guidance for continued growth
  • Provide proposal development guidance to Sales Manager/Reps, as needed
  • Closely interface with our factory proposal teams, application engineers, and product managers
  • Attend Project Strategy/Risk Meetings as needed
  • Clear and concise communication within Electrification Products, U.S.
  • Escalate for assistance when normal processes are not providing desired results
  • Compete with Commercial Intensity to be a champion for our customers while keeping business objectives in sight
  • Coordinate with project management to ensure that any won projects become fully executable and profitable orders

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or business administration or technical field / advanced degree desirable
  • Minimum 5 years of background in the Electrical Distribution & Control Industry
  • Minimum 2 years of assembling complex proposals for Industrial End Users and/or EPCs
  • Exceptional analytical, communication and leadership skills
  • Proficient with proposal development tools including, but not limited to: Empower, Word/Excel, Adobe/Nitro PDF
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
