Project Engineer I

Aethercomm designs and manufactures RF and Microwave amplifier modules, subsystems and systems.

The reliability and effectiveness of thousands of Aethercomm products has been tested and proven in combat, helping to protect and save the lives of our warfighters.Aethercomm is looking to fill a Project Engineer I position.Scope: The purpose of this standard procedure is to establish and define the functional role, requirements, reporting relationships, authority, responsibilities, and measurements of performance of the Project Engineer I at Aethercomm.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

Work closely with Engineering and other team members to ensure all customer requirements and internal requirements are addressed by the responsible engineer Identify any changes in the original scope and any non-compliance and communicate the impact to Engineering Management and Program Management.

Provide leadership and technical support for the engineering process.

Track assigned project status using Microsoft Project to ensure project meets agreed upon schedule.

Work with RF engineers and mechanical engineers to find solutions to difficult technical problems and understand the constraints for a project.

Perform failure investigations and root cause on any production unit failures or quality escapes and provide technical solutions or preventive measures.

Be a point of contact for the Engineering Department for assigned projects with other departments, customers, and vendors.

Attend weekly production meetings when necessary and pass relevant information to other team members.

Collaborate with all subject matter experts and Engineering Management to define and implement processes and procedures that will lead to successful execution of engineering projects.

Coordinate with Buyers, RF, Power and Mechanical Engineers to ensure all necessary parts for any development are specified, ordered, and select substitute parts as required.

Communicate regularly with Program Management to prioritize resources and to provide accurate project schedule estimates with technical understanding of the tasks involved for engineering, to provide customer deliverables that meet the expectations of customers.

Ensure Tech Data Package is accurate, complete, and on time for assigned projects.

Understand design lifecycles including design for manufacturability and test.

• Support multiple projects and support operations personnel as issues arise during build.

Reach and understand the connector types, standards, and all other applications.

Ensure company compliance in accordance with AS9100.

Must have knowledge of commonly used practices and procedures within drafting and specifications.

Ability to teach and coach others within department.

Ability to develop good interpersonal and effective relationships with all employees.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Ability to write simple correspondence.

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.Math Ability:Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Ability to use college level mathematics.

Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.Reasoning Ability:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Computer Skills:MS Office, (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, Visio) Internet software, and other software packages, as required.Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
