Working as a Product Standards and Certification Engineer, you will be the support person for various Instrumentation engineering projects in Process Automation Measurement & Analytics in Warminster, Pennsylvania.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will make technical recommendations in various phases of customer projects to ensure successful delivery of project deliverables on time, within budget and in line with quality and safety guidelines.

Your responsibilities The Product Standards and Certification Engineer acts as the authorized person for IEC Ex, FM, ATEX, CSA hazardous location safety standards and is responsible for the execution of all activities to obtain & maintain product certifications.

On a periodic basis participate in agency and regulatory audits.

Align and coordinate global approval engineering activities.

Maintaining existing certifications.

Monitor changes in external regulations ensuring that all product approvals are up to date according to the latest standards and journal entries.

Assist with factory ISO and other key Health and Safety Audits & addressing non-conformances in a timely manner.

Providing required standards related expertise to product application and design engineers.

Play a vital role in multidisciplinary New Product Development activity.

Maintain a good working relationship with regulatory and approval bodies.

Provide guidance to design personnel on selection of components and materials that meet certified agency standards.

Be responsible and administer the Engineering Change Request (ECR), Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and Engineering Change Notice (ECN) processes.

Responsible for managing Product Literature, Product Operating Instructions and Data Sheets.

Organize multiple projects to meet all objectives without undue delays.

Your background Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering, manufacturing or science discipline.

Experience working in manufacturing / Industrial engineering field – 5 years preferred.

Superior computer skills (CAD, SAP, Lotus Notes) Maintain a strong working knowledge of all appropriate agency performance and global standards (e.g.

FMus, FMc, CSA, ATEX/IECEx, UL, NSF, CRN) pertaining to measurement, control and analytical products.

Hazardous Locations safety standards requirements.

EU Directives, RoHS, REACH, WEEE, CE, UKCA.

Understanding of EMC, Hi-Pot testing and other product related test standards.

Factory safety standards.

Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
