The Parts Assistant is responsible for assisting the Parts Department by unloading, loading, verifying, storing shipments, and backing up parts personnel.

Must be able to fulfill essential job function in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.

Essential Job Duties: Processes Products Received by unloading products, accepting deliveries, and unpacking containers inspecting condition of items received; comparing count/measure of items to purchase order and packing list; noting any discrepancies checking in and warehousing all incoming stock orders informing shipper and transporter of damage or shortages; returning damaged items; requesting new items or credit for shortages routing or delivering items to requesting departments Processes Outbound Orders by assembling, packing, protecting, and labeling containers for shipment examining items to be shipped: destination, route, rate and time of shipment recording identifying information of items and transport information determining method of shipment Makes Daily Pickup and Delivery Runs by loading and unloading parts for pickup and delivery receiving proof of delivery and receipt of merchandise from customer returning parts to parts department picking up and delivering mail to and from post office picking up and delivering bank deposit picking up interoffice mail from bus station Maintains Warehouse by cleaning and straightening parts storage bins ensuring parts in are proper locations keeping warehouse neat and orderly including sweeping and mopping Performs Counter person Backup Duties as Needed by providing Shop Counter person services through maintaining parts, supporting service technicians and assisting the service department providing Parts Counter person services through inside parts sales Other Duties: Assists Others in Parts Department by pulling parts orders to be shipped and picked up and assisting in pulling parts for service department maintaining a clean and safe work area Maintains Parts Vehicle by keeping vehicle clean having vehicle serviced every 3000 miles notifying supervisor of any problems with vehicle Any Other Duties as Assigned by Supervisor Qualifications: Required Skills/Experience minimum 21 years of age clean driving record ability to obtain forklift certification above average communication skills ability to read ability to work independently with minimal supervision ability to accomplish duties with accuracy and timeliness Education High school diploma or equivalent Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions: This position will be working indoors and outdoors traveling to numerous customer/vendor locations.

The employee will encounter varying weather conditions and temperatures.

The normal auto hazards will apply.

Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Occasionally may be required to lift items weighing up to 100 pounds.

Must be able to push/pull up to 40 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds.

Position requires sitting, standing, walking, twisting, and climbing Position requires bending, stooping, kneeling or squatting handling/fingering and outward reaching on a daily basis.

Position requires driving truck to and from customer locations Must be able to wear safety glasses and safety shoes Must be medically capable of performing all aspects of the job with the maximum amount of safety.

(Initial hire requires passing of pre-employment background check, physical abilities test, drug test and driving record) This position is deemed a Safety Sensitive job for purposes of the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment, the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act and the Louisiana Therapeutic Marijuana Act.
