Position Summary: The Orthoptist specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of eye-muscle and binocular vision disorders.# Under the general supervision of ophthalmologists, serves as a practitioner, following patients with strabismus and/or amblyopia.# Assists in training 1st and 2nd year ophthalmology residents, pediatric residents, clinical fellows, and other certified orthoptists.

Employee will follow applicable policies and procedures in handling supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications: 2+ years in pediatric ophthalmology including experience with basic eye exams and the ability to advance to more complex exams and assist provider with complex eye examinations
– preferred.# Will consider new graduates from certified programs.

Education/Licensure/Certifications: BA or BS degree, certification (including annual re-certification) by the American Orthoptic Council and American Heart Association BLS Certification required.
