“Summit” is an accredited ambulatory surgery center in Santa Clarita performing multi-specialty procedures with heavy emphasis on orthopedics and urology.  We are currently seeking an experienced circulating nurse for the OR.  Per diem and part-time positions are available for the right candidate.

Additionally, candidates will be focused on excellent customer service, have the ability to multi-task, the ability to show flexibility in assignments, maintain scrupulous infection control standards, maintain professional competencies and have the ability to work as part of an interdependent multidisciplinary team. Willingness to be involved in various ancillary functions throughout the facility on an as-needed basis.

 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in a surgical setting.
  • Knowledge of the actions, potency, side effects, dosages, and contraindications of drugs used for IV moderate sedation.
  • Ability provide patient care in surgical setting and emergency situations.
  • Ability to work in a creative, organized, self-directed and goal setting manner.
  • Ability to correlate clinical data with patient’s medical condition.
  • Ability to set priorities.
  • Ability to provide direction to others that is clear, concise and promotes efficiency.
  • Ability to work respectfully as part of a team.
  • Ability to accurately comprehend and interpret verbal orders/directions.
  • Skill in interacting with others in a positive and considerate manner.
  • Skill in the safe operation of equipment and machinery.
  • Proficient in the use of technology including computer and standard office equipment.

Required Skills:

Candidates must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing and hold a current unrestricted license to practice in the State of California. Current American Heart BLS and ACLS certification required. PALS recommended. BSN preferred. Minimum one year multi-specialty circulating experience required.  Position requires weekdays only, M-F, no call, no weekends.
