Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking a Quality Engineer 2/3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals at our Woodland Hills, CA location.
The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Quality Engineering team that is engaged with cutting edge technology on a dynamic portfolio of products to meet our customer’s mission needs.
The candidate will support the hardware, software, and systems quality engineering team across all product lines.
Roles and ResponsibilitiesSupports all quality engineering functions, hardware, software, and systems.Supports proposal efforts and basis of estimate development.Develops, modifies, implements and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished products.Evaluates and reports on design, incoming material, production control, and product evaluation to make product and process quality more visible, develops and maintains metrics.Interfaces with the supplier mission assurance team to ensure identified program issues are resolved in a timely manner.Works with the team to establish root cause on identified issues and ensures corrective and preventive actions are documented, implemented, and verified effective.Coordinates efforts to ensure the quality engineering team meets goals and closes actions on time.Works to ensure effective processes are well documented and updated as neededAudits for compliance to established proceduresSupports the teams Continuous Improvement activities MAQEABasic QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in a related STEM fieldFor Level 2 – 2+ years of relevant work experience (or a Master’s Degree with work experience) in quality engineering or related roleFor Level 3 – 5+ years of relevant work experience (or a Master’s Degree with 3+ years of relevant work experience) in quality engineering or related roleAbility to obtain and maintain a Secret clearanceHave worked in an ISO 9001/AS9100 Quality Management System EnvironmentAble to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficientlyExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAble to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions Preferred QualificationsASQ Certified Quality Engineer or Auditor is a plusExperience with SAP and MES is a plusExperience with military electronics manufacturing, J Std 001 soldering and IPC 610 experience a plusLean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma, Green belt certification would be a plusNorthrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
