– Seal Beach, CA Job Description Qualifications: Boeing Defense Space and Security is looking for an Mid-Level Lab System Administrator to work out of our Seal Beach, CA location.
Position Responsibilities:
- Works with customers to develop and document electronic and electrical system requirements
- Analyzes and translates requirements into system, hardware and software designs and interface specifications
- Tests and validates to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements
- Solves problems concerning and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
- System Administration Knowledge of Linux platforms
This position requires a current Tier 5 (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) (U.S.
Citizenship required).
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience ):
- System Administration Knowledge of Linux platforms
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience with reading and interpreting electrical schematics
- Experience in electro-mechanical assembly skills like crimping, stripping, cable routing, splicing, and labeling
- Experience handling and/or working with ESD-sensitive hardware/equipment
- Experience utilizing lab test equipment, such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.
- Experience with virtualization software and solutions (VMware)
- Experience with Storage and Backup solutions
- Self-motivation, taking initiative with minimal instruction
- Problem solving and trouble shooting in a clear and concise manner
- System Administration Knowledge of Windows platforms
Typical Education & Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g.
Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g.
PhD, Master+3 years’ related work experience ).
In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard .
Relocation: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
