We are currently seeking a Metallurgical Engineer for our Materials and Corrosion Engineering Practice in Los Angeles, CA.

In this role, you will work as part of a team to conduct metallurgical, materials, and mechanical failure analyses.

You will be responsible for: 

  • Conducting hands-on failure analyses
  • Planning and executing laboratory tests
  • Conducting field inspections
  • Operating the SEM
  • Performing metallurgical analysis and testing, including metallographic sample preparation and operating the metallograph
  • Communicating effectively with other engineers and technicians, managers, clients, and administrative staff

You will have the following skills and qualifications: 

  • Ph.D.

    in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or related discipline, and familiarity with Mechanical Engineering

  • Specialized metallurgical engineering knowledge
  • Specialized knowledge and experience in metallographic and fractographic interpretation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work within project teams with a strong desire to contribute to the team
