We want your knowledge and expertise!SCHEDULE: 0.9FTE (36hours per week), SHIFT: Dayswith rotating weekends.**$30,000 Sign on Bonus**POSITION SUMMARY:: Provides nursing care as part of the Med Surg Tele float pool.
Maintains standards for professional nursing practice in the Med Surg clinical setting.
Coordinates total nursing care for acutely ill patients.
Primary patient population served include, but not limited to, those admitted for trauma, respiratory infections, stable neurological disorders, diabetes mellitus, dehydration, and dysfunction of the gastrointestinal system.
Participates in organizational and unit based quality improvement activities.
Completes required competencies within the defined time frames.
The RN II will function within the full scope of RN licensure according to the California Nursing Practice Act.
Participates in patient/family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively with members of the health care team to maintain standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.
Is able to provide mentorship and guidance to new employees.May be floated to care for any patient at a Med Surg and Telemetry level of care.Qualifications LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:Minimum: Current California Registered Nurse (R.N.) license, Basic Life Support (BLS)Preferred: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Trauma Nurse Core Course provider (TNCC-P), CCRNEXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:Minimum: 2 years of acute care nursing in a medical surgical setting.Preferred: Experience in nursing with emphasis on trauma, orthopedic, neurosurgical, pulmonary, and general surgical care.EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:Minimum: High School Graduate or equivalent.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:Minimum: Ability to use critical thinking skills and prioritize aspects of patient care; possesses good interpersonal communication skills.Is able to calculate medication dosages and safely administer medications within the critical care setting.
