What Success Looks Like In This Job Adhere to policy, procedures, and post orders.

Complete required training.

Communicate clearly with immediate supervisor, co-workers, and other jail staff.

Potential for limited inmate contact throughout the facility.

Retrieve inmate mail from inmate housing areas.

Sort inmate communication forms (kites).

Process outgoing mail
– sort and organize mail, read general mail when necessary, look for contraband, identify issues, process postage Prepare reports/statements when necessary.

Operate the postage machine.

Process incoming inmate mail: Read all non-legal inmate mail, look for contraband, identify issues Collect money orders for accounting that come in through the mail.

Communicate with the Mail Processor and refer all mail issues to the Mail Processor.

Potential for being subpoenaed to testify by the Courts.

Reports to the Programs Supervisor.

Qualifications for Success Minimum 18 years of age Ability to be assertive and self-motivated Must be able to read, write, and speak English with high proficiency Must have High School Diploma or GED A valid Colorado Driver’s License More Qualifications for Success Basic knowledge of general computer operations (time entry and email).
